Sophie / Shinjuku Gyoen

I met Sophie on a bright and rainy Thursday in Shinjuku. Before heading into the shoot, we found a lovely little cafe close to the garden to help ease the nerves and get to know each other a little more. We ended up chatting for way longer than I had anticipated, and I couldn’t help but notice what a warm, intuitive, vibrant and sunshine-y human she is.

We slowly wandered into the (empty!) garden and began snapping away. The rain began to really pour about halfway through, and it was a proper struggle trying to take photos while holding an umbrella with my underarm (or by resting the canopy strangely on my head!)

In the end, our feet were saturated and our hair flattened, but we came away with some truly brilliant pictures.
